Body shaping after weight loss
Overweight people often loose skin and tissue elasticity as a result of significant weight loss. As a result, sagging and loosening in the upper arm, flattening of the breasts, and down turning of the nipples, folding in the abdomen, and extending to the lower back area can cause sagging in the hip, groin, and thigh skin pockets. After significant weight loss, in body shaping operation, the shape and tone of the underlying tissue are supported, and excessively sagging fat and skin are removed. As a result, a collective appearance is provided on the body.
In the interview, your current complaints and post-operative expectations are evaluated first. Afterward, your general health status, the amount and distribution of fat in your body, sagging and excess skin, and skin quality are evaluated. During this examination, Accurate and detailed information is obtained about the diseases you have had, your current health problems (diabetes, etc.), your habits (smoking, alcohol, etc.), and the drugs you use (aspirin, tranquilizers, etc.). Your expectations and examination findings are evaluated as a result. During this examination, the type of anesthesia, how many days you will stay in the hospital, and after the operation is discussed. The body is examined in detail and measurements are taken. Photographs are taken for medical records. When you decide on the operation, my assistant plans the appropriate operation day for you.
Preparation for Operation Time
A cold or another infection may cause the operation to be delayed. You will need someone to assist you on the day of the operation and for the next few days. Aspirin and derivative drugs are discontinued one week before the operation (Do not stop the drug you are constantly using without consulting your doctor). It is recommended not to use cigarettes for a while before and after the operation. On the day of the operation, do not put on make-up, do not use hair gel, wear comfortable clothes, and leave your jewelry at home. Nothing should be eaten or drunk 6 hours before the operation. You should be in the hospital about an hour before the operation. When you come to your reserved room, you will be given oral medication if you wish, and this will relax you.
You need to stay in the hospital for a few days. It may take a few weeks for you to feel the same as before. You can return to work after 2-4 weeks. Acceptable scarring will be slightly visible, but overall good results are long-lasting. After a weight loss plastic surgery, the results are immediately visible. The scar may seem to worsen in the first 3-6 months, but this is normal, it may take 9 months to 1 year for the scars to flatten and fade. Although not destroyed, incision scars are left in a way that they can be hidden in the fold lines and under the bikini. It gives good results for patients with sagging thigh region. In most patients, good results can be maintained for years with regular exercise and diet. A special garment is put on for a few weeks to dissolve edema, support tissues and accelerate healing. The results of body shaping operations are clearly visible after 1 year.
Several aesthetic operations can be performed together after weight loss. At this point, first, the health and physical condition of the person is evaluated. Then the aesthetic operations that are needed are determined. For example, according to physical and general health status; Breast lift and augmentation surgery and arm lift aesthetics can be performed together. Tummy tuck surgery can also be combined with leg stretching surgery. Back lift aesthetics is also usually combined with tummy tuck and arm lift operations.
In general, upper and lower sections are implemented with two separate operation plans. In each operation, body shaping aesthetics of that region are performed. The person may be experiencing sagging skin in many parts of the body; however, it is not recommended to intervene in all areas with a single aesthetic surgery at the same time in order to protect the general health of the person. After weight loss, it would be correct to plan the aesthetic surgeries in at least two sessions and to do them at intervals. Although the time between the two surgeries is determined according to the condition of the person, in general, there is a break between body-shaping surgeries for a period of 6 months.
